Recently, basketball at Souhegan has begun, and girls varsity had their first pre-season scrimmage last Saturday, November 26. On Saturday, the Sabers and other teams went not only to play basketball but also to collect perishable food items to donate. They played against Hopkinton at Great Bay Community College, home to the gulls. Souhegan took home a win with a final score of 45-22. The starting line up was; senior, Lindsay McCool, junior, Beth Greenwood, junior, Emma White, junior Mia Len, and sophomore, Katie O’brien. All the varsity girls are coached by Mike Heaney with assistance of Mike Vetack who also coaches girls JV basketball. The girls have very high potential and are looking forward to a great season.
