Souhegan’s girls ice hockey team is off to a strong start as winter sports kick into gear. They recently played their first game of the season against Conval. The team easily took the win with a score of 10-0. Shannon Paquette (Sophomore) contributed with four goals and two assists. Simonne Dodge (Freshman) added two goals and two assists to the scoreboard, while Julia Pinkham (Freshman) added a goal and two assists. Other players who put pucks in the net included Riley Tobin (Freshman), Eliza Cullen (Senior), and Hunter Baum (Senior). Maggie Dix (Junior) also had two assists. The team’s goalie, Makayla Lachance (Junior), supported the Lady Sabers with multiple saves.

The team’s head coach, Kelli Braley, recently commented her thoughts on the season. “I love the young talent we’ve picked up.” Braley said. “They’re coming in eager and skilled. Our chemistry is great.”

The girls’ next game is on Wednesday at 8:20pm at Conway Arena in Nashua. Come out and support the team!
