Howie Dessureault (#1,running back and linebacker) said, “Honestly this is probably one of the best feelings I’ve ever had, with all the boys coming through. We did great.”

For Milford, it was not their first HFG game either, and they knew all about it. Head coach Keith Jones said, “Our kids know that there’s a lot more than just playing football, there’s a lot more important things and Hope for Gus is certainly one of them.”

Robin Bowkett, head coach of our own sabers left the game in a good mood as well. Saying coaching his first HFG game was amazing. “It’s for a great cause and the atmosphere was awesome, I can’t wait to experience that again.”

When asked what mindset he had the boys go into the game, he said “ We knew the magnitude of the game from a football standpoint, we probably needed to win this one to keep some good playoff hopes alive. Obviously the Milford- Souhegan rivalry is big enough as it is, and then on top of it you have Hope for Gus. So, we told them after practice; hey, we know the pressure that you guys are on, just don’t worry about it. Just go out play loose, play fast, have some fun and everything’s going to be alright.”
