This past Saturday our very own Souhegan Sabers Girls Hockey team took on the Bobcats of Oyster River High School for their first game of the season. This game took place at Conway Arena, where all of their home games will be held. Both teams came out strong during the first period. Shannon Paquette played especially well, putting two pucks in the back of the net during the first and second period. It wasn’t until the third period that Oyster River scored on the Sabers. However, Souhegan goalie, Makayla Lachance, had an exceptional game with a staggering 45 saves. The final score was 2-1 leaving the Sabers with a well-deserved win to start off their season. The next game will be held on Wednesday, December 20th away at Kingswood.

Go sabers and good luck to all winter athletes this season!
