Award-winning poet, performer, and teaching artist Anders Carlson Wee will present a public program “DYNAMITE: An Exploration of the Explosive Potential of Contemporary Poetry from 3:00-4:30 pm on January 11, 2018 at the Amato Center for the Performing Arts in Milford.  Carlson-Wee will be introduced by UNH Professor Emeritus Tom Newkirk, and subsequently interviewed by a panel of students from Milford, Souhegan, and Hollis Brookline High Schools.

Anders Carlson-Wee was awarded a 2015 fellowship from the National Endowment for the Arts. That same year, he was also a Bread Loaf Bakeless Camargo Fellow, and he won the Frost Place Chapbook competition for his first volume of poetry, Dynamite. Carlson-Wee has a forthcoming volume, The Low Passions to be published by Norton in 2018. He holds an MFA from Vanderbilt University.

Milford High School teacher Beth Powers met Carlson-Wee at the Frost Place Poetry Seminar in 2016 and invited him to the Souhegan Valley. “Carlson-Wee’s work impressed me with its raw, visceral power. His countercultural lifestyle underscores fascinating poems. Don’t miss this event,” said Powers.
