Interact Club to Help Puerto Rico Rise
Over 4 months after Hurricane Maria, more than 450,000 residents of Puerto Rico are still without power. Souhegan Interact Club has come up with an idea to raise money to help these hurricane victims.
Interact Club President Sophia Husainy said, “ In years past, our school’s Interact had not participated in a large relief fundraising project. This year we set a goal of working on a large scale fundraiser that would involve our school community and help people in need. With the money we raise with the shirts we will be able to buy water filters and other necessities to help Puerto Rico rise again to its former state.”
Lily Bachelder, a member of Souhegan Interact Club, designed the t-shirt with the phrase “Puerto Rico Rises” on the front.
The shirts are for sale this month and cost $15 each. They are available for purchase to anyone who would like to support the cause. Simply email souheganinteract@gmail.com listing your name, grade, adviser, and t-shirt size. Payment for the shirts can be collected in advisory anytime by February 16th. Along with your purchase, you receive 5 Fangfest points for your grade and free admission to the basketball game Fangfest week.
