Souhegan Field Hockey Team Gets a Late Goal to Secure 1-0 win Against Merrimack Valley

The Souhegan Sabers’ field hockey team faced off against the Merrimack Valley Pride. The game was a low scoring one on the Pride’s home field. The game was scoreless up until the last 6 minutes when Senior, Margot Redway, tapped in a rolling ball on the line into the goal after the ball had gone through the Pride goalkeeper. The Saber goalie, Elle Byrem, a junior held a shutout with 5 saves leading to the Sabers’ 1-0 victory. Souhegan also trumped the Pride on penalty corners only allowing 5 and recieving 9 for themselves. The Sabers’ look ahead to their next game away at Pelham and their next home game on Wednesday against Goffstown. The Sabers’ are 3-0 this season and are looking to keep adding to their streak.
