What Students are Looking Forward to After Quarantine

May 22, 2020
As the time is flying by through the end of online school and quarantine coming to a close by the end of the month, Souhegan’s senior class of 2020 will be graduating in person on June 19th as of now. Graduation will consist of everyone being six feet apart, families being separated, and masks being worn. Adam Steele and others worked hard to make an in-person graduation possible and their top priority, which the senior class is very thankful for.
Due to the end of the school year and quarantine being lifted, students are eager to do the activities they were before this global pandemic. Drive In theaters have opened up, stores are on their way of reopening, and restaurants have set up larger outdoor seating areas. Everyone is excited to go back to normal life, whether it is getting outside, going back to work, going shopping in retail stores, eating out, or simply being with friends.
Students were asked what they were most looking forward to once summer starts and quarantine is lifted. The two most popular answers were hanging out with friends and going to the beach or lake. Others said they were most excited for sports to restart up, since every spring sports season was cancelled. Some are waiting for the everyday errands they can do normally like shopping at Target and the Merrimack Outlets.
Regardless of the activities people will start doing again that were once normal to us, students have stated overall how excited they are to go into summer with not as many restrictions as we had this spring. Most students are looking forward to seeing their peers this summer. Most seniors are especially excited to see their friends again and say their goodbyes before each individual goes to follow their new future path. A special thanks to Adam Steele and others who helped make graduation a top priority for the seniors.
