Mount. Sunapee Alpine Race 1/27/17

On Friday, the boys and girls Souhegan Alpine team took the day off and traveled to Sunapee Mountain for a slalom and G.S (Giant Slalom) race. It was a perfect day for a race, with the temperature in the lower 20’s. The snow was fast and plentiful from the storm that dropped 5-6 inches earlier in the week. The Souhegan girls placed 4th overall in the G.S race, with Olivia Bennett leading the pack in 4th place. In slalom the girls team took 5th place overall with again Olivia Bennett leading the team at 8th place.

The Souhegan boys in GS. also took 4th place overall as a team. Freshman Andrew Taylor led the team with a 6th place finish. In slalom   the Souhegan boys, took second place as a team, as they held down 8th place by Andrew Taylor, 9th by Camden Fritz, and 10th by Monty Jones. A great day for both the Boys and Girls alpine team. The State championships are just two weeks away, which marks sadly the end of the season, but the boys team have a good chance to win the Crotchet Cup this year!
