Maddie Gillespie Since she was 8 years old Maddie Gillespie has enjoyed performing in plays. The first show she ever acted in was the “Best Christmas Pageant Ever” by BYPC. When asked if she gets nervous onstage Maddie told me “Not Anymore, just when I’m auditioning.” Which is good because when she is older acting/singing is something she wants to pursue. In the show Maddie plays Hippolyta, a character she would describe as a sassy, sarcastic Queen who is engaged. 3 pieces of advice Maddie would give someone who wanted to get into acting would be “have confidence and don’t be afraid to show off your talent, Invest in your character and put all you got into it and take lots of risks with your character and performing”

Matt Katsigiannis First I sat down with Matt Katsigiannis. Matt first got into acting when he was in 6th grade. After being what he described as “forcefully taken” to an audition of “Honk” by one of his friends and auditioning himself, he was given the lead role of the Ugly Duckling. Matt says when he is older acting/singing is something he would love to pursue as a career. He has already started to look for colleges in NYC. But like most of us with stage fright, Matt does admit to getting nervous when performing but after the first or second show Matt says he gets “a good read” of the crowd and his nerves start to settle. Matt plays King Theseus in the production and would describe him as “Royal, peaceful and commanding.” Three tips Matt would give someone getting into acting would be 1. “Have fun with it, don’t take yourself too seriously.” 2. “Dive right in, don’t think about it too much” 3. “Take classes, you can never get too much practice.”
